WaterWorld — Server Info

Nine servers · one ocean

WaterWorld

A connected cluster of nine Rust servers stitched into a single sea. Build a boat, sail to the edge of the map, and cross into the next server — with everything you own coming along for the ride.

One world, nine servers

A center island ringed by four edge waters and four corners.

WaterWorld isn't one map — it's nine, joined at their borders. Sail your boat off the edge of the map and you'll cross into the neighboring server. There's no queue and no menu: the ocean just keeps going. Each server is its own persistent world, so where you build matters, but the whole cluster is one place to explore and raid across.

Build in peace (PvE)

The north, south, east, and west waters are PvE — these are the islands you build on. No one can raid or fight you there, unless a raid zone opens on top of you.

Sail to travel

Reach the map edge in a boat to cross into the next server. Your boat and everything on it makes the trip with you.

Your home server

When you log in you return to the server you were last on. Type /homeserver to check it, or /sethomeserver to pin it to the one you're on.

Shared progress

Blueprints you learn anywhere are unlocked on every server — learn it once, keep it clusterwide.

Wipe schedule: the cluster wipes every two weeks — a fresh map and a clean start for everyone.

Crossing between servers

What comes with you, and the one thing that stops you.

A crossing carries your full state to the destination. When you sail over an edge, the game brings across:

You

Your inventory, health, hunger and thirst, and your loaded guns — ammo and attachments intact.

Your boat

Your boat travels with you, along with its storage, sail and engine upgrades, and any beds, bags, and code locks you've placed on it.

Your team

Your Rust team follows you across the cluster and re-forms wherever your teammates end up together.

Combat lock. You can't cross a server border for 30 seconds after taking gunfire, melee, or explosive damage — no bailing out mid-fight. Cold, hunger, and thirst don't count. A marker on the right of your screen counts the lock down.

Out on the water

What's roaming the cluster while you sail.

The Cargo Ship

One cargo ship rotates through the cluster, spending time on a different server before moving on. Type /cargo to see which server it's on and how long it has left.

The Patrol Helicopter

The heli patrols the four edge waters — north, east, south, west — on a rotation, running its sweep before moving to the next. Type /heli to find it.

Clusterwide weather

Weather is shared across every server and rolls in smoothly — fog, rain, overcast, dust, and the occasional storm. When it turns, it turns everywhere.

Davits

Deploy an anchor to make a davit, then use /lift to dock or launch a boat from it.

The hunt: from shark to raid

Sea bosses feed a token chain that ends in a raid.

A Megalodon surfaces

A giant shark surfaces on its own in the four corner waters — northeast, northwest, southeast, southwest. Bring it down and it drops a Kraken Token in a floating chest where it died.

Summon the Kraken

Holding a Kraken Token, type /kraken to call up the Kraken — a massive body ringed by tentacles. Drop the tentacles first, then finish the body.

Claim your Raid Token

Defeat the Kraken and it hands the summoner a Raid Token from its remains — your key to a raid.

Open a raid zone

Stand where you want it and type /raid. The Raid Token opens a raid zone on the spot.

What a raid zone is: a temporary PvP bubble. For one hour per Raid Token, PvP and base raiding are switched on inside it — so a raid zone is the only place fights and raids happen on the otherwise-PvE building islands. When the hour runs out, peace returns.
